COVID-Related Procedures and Pre-Cautions

We will be following the COVID safety protocols as defined by Midland Public Schools.

Key Documents

Parents, please make sure that your players don't come to practice if they have a fever or any of the other symptoms of COVID or if they are known or suspected to have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID. Also, please make sure that they understand the necessity of maintaining social distancing (at least 6 ft) at all times while at lacrosse practice. If we don't have sufficient self-discipline to follow the rules for COVID safety, we may not only risk someone's health but will also lose the privilige of using MPS property for our practices.

Process

  1. Complete and return parent consent form (LINK). You may bring a paper copy to practice or take a picture of or scan it and send it by email to 989lacrosse@gmail.com. A player will not be allowed to practice without a completed consent form.
  2. Upon arrival at practice, all players and coaches will have a brief health screening (temperature check with a touchless thermometer and questions about various symptoms and any contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID). Anyone who is not cleared through the screening process is to go home and not participate in practice. A list of the attendees and the results of this health screening information will be maintained. This record will be kept private but will be shared with health officials for the purpose of contact tracing should the need arise.
  3. Players must bring their own water bottle to practice. There will be no sharing of water bottles (or any other equipment) between players.
  4. Players should place their equipment bag and water bottle at least 6 feet away from anyone else's bag/bottle in order to avoid any possibility of cross-contamination.
  5. During the practice time, the players will work in small groups with the coaches on various lacrosse skills while maintaining at least 6 feet of separation from all players and coaches at all times.
  6. Players are encouraged to go straight home to shower immediately after practice.
